Below are symptoms and indicators that may be due to an immaturity of central nervous system (this list does not contain all possible signs and symptoms of NMI).
- Difficulty learning to ride a bike
- Mixed laterality (being right hand dominant and left leg dominant.) above the age of 8 years
- Inability to sit or remain at rest in silence
- Difficulty learning to read and to write
- Difficulty learning and using script will prefer to write in block letters)
- Difficulties and or avoidance in PE classes
- Difficulty learning to tell time on an analog clock
- Difficulty learning to swim (or strongly prefers swimming underwater)
- Weak coordination of eye and hand
- Problems with speech and pronunciation
- Anxiety
- Discrepancy between written and oral expression (better orally than in writing, etc.)
